What is your mission?

Our mission is to unite business and professional women who inspire to pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations by supporting, uplifting and encouraging through sisterhood.

Do I have to be a college student in order to be a member?

No. We encourage all professionals, and entrepreneurs to seek membership with Kappa Theta Lambda Sorority, Inc. as we are a non-collegiate sorority.

HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER?

The first step is to subscribe to our mailing list. The subscription will allow you to receive information about interest calls, application deadlines and other important information relating to the pledging process.

The second step is to subscribe to our Instagram and Facebook pages. Our Instagram handle is @lambdaladyinc, and our Facebook page is Outstanding Lady W/Attitude. We will also post information on these sites and you don’t want to miss any announcements.

The third step is to attend an interest meeting. Interest meetings are held several times during the year.

The fourth step is to submit an application once you have received an invitation to Rush Week. Applications will be reviewed and decision letters are sent to each applicant notifying them of their acceptance into the sorority. If accepted into the sorority, you will receive further instructions on the pledging process.

WHAT IS THE AGE RANGE FOR MEMBERS?

Members must be over the age of 21 to join.

Does Kappa Theta Lambda have a pledge process?

Yes we do have a process. WE DO NOT ALLOW HAZING OF ANY KIND OF OUR NEW AND/OR POTENTIAL MEMBERS.

Do you have any chapters outside of Atlanta?

Yes, Kappa Theta Lambda currently has one chapter in New Jersey. As we grow, we expect to stand up other chapters throughout the United States. We currently have members who live in Atlanta, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Florida and Texas. All are welcomed, no matter where they live.

Are there fees associated with joining Kappa Theta Lambda?

Yes, Kappa Theta Lambda is aware of how important it is to balance money and finances. We are pleased to say that our expenses for membership are reasonable and we offer options that will work for all members.

How much time is required in order to pledge?

We know that every woman has a life outside of the organization which is why we work around the schedules of all pledgees in order to leave enough time for fellowship with one another.

What if I belong to another Greek-letter organization, am I still eligible for membership?

Yes. If you are a member of another organization, you are still eligible for membership.

WHAT IS AN INTEREST GROUP ACTIVITY?

An interest group activity is a members-only opportunity to meet those with common interests and generally takes place weekly or monthly. The club offers diverse interest groups and is always open to adding new ones, based on member interests. Any member may propose a new interest group or volunteer to coordinate an existing one.

WHAT OCCURS AT A LUNCHEON?

Our luncheons are much more than "business card swaps.” They are designed to enable everyone at the table to interact and connect with each other, both on a personal and professional level. You’ll be able to meet potential clients, colleagues, employers, customers, friends, and associates each month. Our format makes networking with new professional peers as easy as lunching with close friends.We also feature highly accomplished and inspiring guest speakers who come to share their stories of success and how they got there.

WHAT OCCURS AT A SPECIAL EVENT?

KOA offers a choice of more intimate special events throughout the year. Held in the evenings as well as during the day, these additional events offer members a chance to turn professional acquaintances into personal friends. All of these events - luncheons, book signings, and spa evenings to name a few - offer you a relaxing and low-pressure way to expand your personal and professional network.
